Excuse the cut in the beginning of "You Can't Hurt Me No More".
It was a wild night :-) One of the best shows I've ever heard T&L play, IMHO.
They are cookin'!

Subject: My 21st Birthday Show!
but to hear Nick wish me a happy birthday on the recording, and to not remember that happening until years later when I downloaded it off the archive site...
What a long strange "trip" indeed!!!
Oh yeah, at the time I was sure that it was me that Nick was referring to when he sang..."if you're gonna wear a suit and tie, please don't come to my party"

p.s. Long live John (and Nick too!!!)
Subject: Thanks
Thanks for the review. Yes, this is a killer show!
Regarding "The Trip": This song ended up on a low budget Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper flick called "The Trip". An old counter culture flick with a simple plot about a guy's (Peter Fonda) first LSD trip. If you've never seen it, I recommend it. It's quite amusing :-) But, yes, you are correct, the song name is "Nick's Highland Fling". I named it as such on all my subsequent tapes.
There was no Bar Mitzvah at the show, to my knowledge. But who knows, we were all so effin drunk and high at these shows, there might have been for all I know :-)
Later,
Roger
Subject: wow
On a side note, "The Trip" is on the archive with T&L 8/1/86 and 2/23/84 as "Nick's Highland Fling." I don't know what the correct name of the song is, since I don't think it's officially released. Who knows.
Cheers, and thanks for this recording!
By the way, is Nick serious in WDYL... Best bar mitzvah they've played?
